Andre Norton was an American author of fantasy and science fiction. She achieved significant commercial and critical success with her stories during her over seventy-year literary career, influencing many authors and winning various awards—as well as having an award named after her.

Most of her short works are still under copyright; this collection contains the few of her short stories that are believed to be in the U.S. public domain.
